Exhibition Announcement of the closing of A&P Gallery, October 3, 1986. Offset print, 4 1/2″ x 6″.
Brothers Andrew and Paul Castrucci operated A&P Gallery in Alphabet City, where exhibitions often featured political caricatures and messages. Raymond Pettibon’s cartoon on this announcement foreshadows the concern for real estate and housing rights that would dominate the Castruccis’ subsequent work at the art squat Bullet Space, and their ‘zine Your House Is Mine.
Front. (“With a loft like this you can paint masterpieces!”)
