“After AIDS showed up everything changed and all the people I would see out at clubs, I was no longer seeing. When you would ask them where they had been, they would respond with “I don’t go out much anymore”, and wham the idea for my party was born. Participants were required to submit a visual explanation in any medium they chose, which showed what was keeping them away. I took a polaroid of each person, and displayed it with their art piece.
