Aron “Pie Man” Kay, a member of the Yippies, made his name in the 1970s by lobbing pastry at conservative figures like William F. Buckley, Phyllis Schlafly, Roy Cohn, and G. Gordon Liddy, as well as local celebrities Andy Warhol and Steve Rubell.

Wonder-pony

An announcement for a 1990 party reports the Pie Man’s “coming out of retirement to ‘pie’ Donald Trump!” The event also featured Danny the Wonder Pony, known for giving clubbers rides in the saddle strapped to his back.

Pie

For another party that year, Baird recruited Kay to pie Surf Club proprietor George Beavers.
