Paulette Nenner (1941-1987), a strong animal rights activist, caused a major controversy when she exhibited a dead coyote nailed to a cross in an exhibition about animals sponsored by the NYC Parks Department. The crucified coyote available here is from a small edition that Nenner designed following the highly publicized incident. Nenner was one of the most respected artists in the COLAB circle and her early death was much lamented. Her works are extremely rare.
