This is a striking work by an artist who had much success in the various Colab stores. Howland’s much-acclaimed, large, outdoor sculpture Brainwash was a longtime fixture in the backyard of ABC No Rio. Howland did variations of the Lung Cancer Ashtray each individually painted. The ashtray offered here is #60. A similar work sold at the estate auction of the art dealer Holly Solomon.
