Stefan Eins followed his 3 Mercer Street Store with the South Bronx art space Fashion Moda. John Ahearn’s painted, plaster-cast portraits of South Bronx residents made up one of the defining exhibitions of Fashion Moda’s first years. Ahearn attracted the neighborhood’s attention by working right on the street outside the gallery. The South Bronx Hall of Fame climaxed with a jam-packed closing party. Only four invitations to this historic event are known to still exist.
