“Semaphore Walkout!”: 10-page stapled ‘zine, 7″ x 8 1/2″; with four-page stapled insert, 8 1/2″ x 11″.

“Break In!”: 6-page stapled ‘zine, 7″ x 8 1/2″.

Two short stories self-published by artist Mike Cockrill upon the closing of Barry Blinderman’s Semaphore Gallery. In retrospect, Cockrill’s semi-fictional diatribe is a rare marker of the end of the East Village art scene. The Fun Gallery had closed the year before, and the following year Gracie Mansion Gallery would move to SoHo.
