Handwritten note says, “Saw David Monday afternoon (July 13th) said yes to do article on JMB.” A later note dated on September 17th warns, “if the piece is to be here in time to make the issue, it has to Exist within the next few days….” The deadline was not met. An article on Basquiat by Thomas McEvilley would later appear in the November issue of Artforum.
