Edward Kienholz, Still Live, 13-Page Catalog for an Installation/Performance involving a live gun, New Berlin Art Society, 1974
From a review that is included in the catalog: “In front of a cosy arm-chair, Kienholz set up an unpleasant iron box, 1.50 meters high, 50 cm wide and 30 cm deep, with the barrel of a rifle pointing out of it on the level of and in the direction of the arm chair. Visitors were warned against sitting in the chair for, according to the accompanying text, the rifle was loaded and would at some time be trigged by an electronic mechanism. Sometime: in 24 hours or in 100 years.”
