VINTAGE ART POSTERS 1970s – 80s: Warhol, Beuys, Haring, Oldenburg, Basquiat, Guerrilla Girls
Over the last few months, Gallery 98 has acquired a number of top tier posters from the 1970s and 80s. The collection includes iconic classics like the Guerrilla Girls’ “Do women have to be naked to get into the Met. Museum,” and the lesser-known version of Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat’s boxing poster promoting the afterparty at the Palladium for their collaborative exhibition. There is also an unusual Claes Oldenburg poster for “Artist Call Against U.S. Intervention in Central America” that features soldiers pulling down a phallic banana-shaped monument; as well as, a huge 4 x 6 foot Bill Cunningham poster for Details Magazine that is ideal for a fashion showroom.
